  • Strawberry Yogurt

Some snacks bring me right back to childhood, and strawberry yogurt is one of them. I remember sitting in the school cafeteria with my friends, sipping on fruity yogurt tubes and talking about the boys we liked. Unfortunately, many store-bought yogurts are made with too much sugar, added coloring, and preservatives. It often created a sugar rush followed by a crash for my friends and me.

That’s where homemade strawberry yogurt comes in. With only four all-natural ingredients and a lot of wiggle room for creativity, this recipe has the same pretty pink color as the store-bought type, and an even brighter flavor. Serving this velvety yogurt (especially in the summertime, when strawberries are in season) is a breeze. You can easily teach your kids how to make it, so they can meal prep for the week ahead. Simply purée the strawberries, then mix with the rest of the ingredients, and ta-da! You’ve got a berry-licious base for yogurt bowls, smoothies, and more.

Is Strawberry Yogurt Healthy?

Yogurt is often rich with probiotics that support gut health, and if you use Greek yogurt, you’ll have a nice protein boost, too. All the ingredients are natural, which makes this recipe a healthy snack, breakfast, or even dessert. If needed, you can use plant-based yogurt (like oat, coconut, or cashew) instead of dairy. Using maple syrup instead of honey, alongside dairy-free yogurt, will make it 100% vegan, no problem! Last but not least, strawberry yogurt is naturally gluten-free.

Make A Stunning Strawberry Parfait

While you can savor homemade strawberry yogurt by itself, it also makes the perfect base for a pink-tastic parfait. In a glass parfait jar, layer the yogurt with Protein Granola, fresh berries, nuts, and seeds. Make your layers thick enough so the design is visible from the outside. I like to top mine with some Chocolate-Covered Strawberries or Chocolate-Covered Raspberries, but you’re welcome to experiment with various berries until you find the best version for you. You could also top it with unsweetened coconut shavings, cacao nibs, or a drizzle of Cashew Butter. Most importantly, have fun with it and let your flavor favorites shine!

How to Make Ahead and Store

Keep leftover strawberry yogurt in well-sealed jars in the fridge for up to 3 days. For longer storage, place in a freezer-safe container and freeze for up to 3 months. It can be eaten frozen, or thaw it in the fridge overnight to enjoy the next day. Stir thoroughly to get the creamy, fluffy texture back.

Serving Suggestions

In addition to the recommendations I’ve shared, I also suggest serving strawberry yogurt for breakfast with the Best Homemade Granola Bars, protein-rich Cottage Cheese Waffles, or Blueberry Cheesecake Oatmeal.

If it’s a decadent dessert you’re looking for, consider incorporating strawberry yogurt into a Healthy Brownie Chocolate Raspberry Mousse Parfait. The marvelous medley of berry and chocolate is a classic pairing that makes me drool just thinking about it. Likewise, try the yogurt as a side with Healthy Chocolate Peanut Butter Muffins. Who says dessert can’t be both rich and wholesome?
