People often ask why I create recipes from different diets—whether it be gluten-free, vegan, dairy-free—or whatever the current trend may be. The answer? I’m always up for trying something new. Call it culinary curiosity. I also have a diverse circle of friends and family, all with their own unique preferences and dietary restrictions. You should see my menu for get-togethers. Desserts like keto cream cheese cookies go a long way in making my guests feel welcome and considered, and you know what? These cookies are delicious, whether you’re following a ketogenic diet or not.

If you’re familiar with the keto diet, you’re probably aware of the fact that most traditional desserts are a big no. My hat goes off to all of those brave souls who have managed to curb their cravings for sugar-laden treats. As for me, I like my cakes and brownies far too much. That isn’t to say my keto friends can’t indulge. After all, there are plenty of ways to get creative without compromising taste, and these cookies do just that.

Keto cream cheese cookies aren’t your ordinary cookies. They bring a soft texture and creamy, slightly tangy flavor. While there isn’t any added sugar, the cinnamon, vanilla, and almond extract more than make up for that. Best of all, there are wheat-free, so both your keto and gluten-free friends can enjoy these cookies without any concern.

Are Keto Cream Cheese Cookies Healthy?

These keto cream cheese cookies are made primarily with almond flour and Swerve, which is a sugar substitute. While they do contain a fair amount of fat, that’s par for the course in ketogenic diets. Considering that your standard cookie is high in fat and sugar, that’s a fair compromise.

Swerve vs Sugar: What’s the Difference?

Swerve and sugar may look alike, but they couldn’t be more different. Swerve is a popular keto-friendly sweetener made from erythritol and oligosaccharides. Similar to other sugar alternatives, Swerve delivers sweetness without calories or carbs. Unlike sugar, Swerve doesn’t lead to blood sugar spikes.

How to store Keto Cream Cheese Cookies

You could safely keep these cookies at room temperature for up to 3 days, though storing them in your fridge is best. They taste delicious cold and will likely stay fresh for a bit longer, up to a week. Either way, be sure to store the cookies in an airtight container.

Serving suggestions

These cookies are perfect on their own, but they pair beautifully with keto-friendly beverages like unsweetened almond milk or a glass of sugar free eggnog. If you’re hosting, consider serving them alongside other low-carb treats, like keto brownies  and these decadent yet healthy avocado chocolate truffles.
