Dress up everyone’s favorite fast-food side with these fancy and flavorful Truffle Fries!

I blame Buckley’s Restaurant for my truffle fry addiction. If you find yourself in Milwaukee, do yourself a favor and stop by Buckley’s. Not only do they have some of the best pasta, steaks, and burgers in town, but they also feature truffle fries on their menu. Sadly, Buckley’s is one of those places that changes their menu pretty frequently, so you’re not always guaranteed to find your favorites, in this case, truffle fries. Needless to say, I practically pine for these fries, so much so that I was determined to try and make them myself.
I’ll be the first to admit that this recipe doesn’t quite capture the magic of Buckley’s, but it comes pretty darn close. If you haven’t tried truffle oil, you’re in for a treat. It’s hard to describe, but I’d say that truffle oil has an earthy flavor with a savory umami taste. It goes so well with the sharpness of the Parmesan and the brightness from the parsley.
So is it fancy? Yes, but that’s the point. Anyway, when have crispy fries drizzled with truffle oil and sprinkled with Parmesan ever been a bad thing? Besides, it’s my excuse to eat something that sounds “bougie” but is still just, you know, a plate of fries.
Are These Truffle Fries Healthy?
Fries are usually, well, deep-fried. So, in that sense, these truffle fries are slightly “healthier,” since they’re baked in the oven. That said, there’s still plenty of oil used here, but hey, at least it’s olive oil, which is considered a healthy fat. However, between the cheese and the oils, this is definitely not a low-calorie recipe. While you could cut the oil by a quarter or half, these fries won’t be nearly as tasty. My advice? Enjoy the fries as is—everything in moderation!

What Exactly Is Truffle Oil?
Real truffle oil, the good stuff, comes from olive oil infused with real truffle, a subterranean fungus similar to mushrooms. I won’t lie—authentic truffle oil is wickedly expensive. However, you don’t need to use a lot of it. Truffle oil has a pungent, aromatic flavor that goes a long way.
If you’re not ready to splurge just yet, most stores offer more affordable “truffle” oils that use synthetic flavoring. It’s cheaper, lasts longer, and is, ironically, more potent than authentic truffle oil. Consequently, its flavor is less nuanced, too. But for this recipe, synthetic truffle oil still gets the job done.

How Do I Store Leftovers?
Leftovers? You’re not going to have any leftovers! But if you do, store them in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 3 days. Reheat in your oven at 400°F for about 5-7 minutes. For an even crispier texture, reheat the fries in your air fryer at 360°F for 3-5 minutes.

Serving Suggestions
Personally, I enjoy truffle fries with a Belgian beer or a Chardonnay. Although these fries are inherently delicious, they are even more so when paired with something like Cheeseburger Sliders or an Avocado Burger. Keep it casual!
However, truffle fries are quite “upscale,” perfect for special dinners that include a savory Rosemary Steak or grilled lobster tail. Alternatively, serve the truffle fries along with other appetizers, such as Oven-Baked Mozzarella Sticks, Crab Puffs, and Jalapeño Poppers.
