Whether you’re watching the big game, planning a get-together with friends, or just want something unique to munch on, these bacon-wrapped pickles will always be a hit! If, like me, you have never considered doing anything different with pickles, get ready to be pleasantly surprised!

To me, I always thought of pickles as the perfect accompaniment to deli sandwiches. Whether I was eating corned beef, pastrami, turkey, or chopped liver, a pickle spear had to be on the side. Never in my wildest imagination did I think of wrapping pickle spears in bacon and baking them in the oven, but of course, when I finally tried them, my mind was truly blown!

The sour saltiness of the pickles combined with the smokiness of the bacon makes this appetizer a party in your mouth. Ranch dressing adds a wonderful cooling effect that takes this treat to another level. So go ahead and make this the next time you have company over!

Are Bacon-Wrapped Pickles Healthy?

Not especially. But one of the reasons I LOVE bacon-wrapped pickle spears is that you can adjust the ingredients to your own needs. For example, I’ve made them with turkey bacon, which helps lower the fat and calories sometimes associated with traditional bacon. And unlike similar recipes that include cheese, these pickles require only two ingredients—bacon and pickles. Since you have the ability to choose the brand of pickles and bacon, you can easily control the dish’s sodium, sugar, and fat content.

Switch Up The Sauce For Unique Flavor Combinations

Although this recipe calls for ranch dressing for dipping, you are not limited to just that one option! Just as some people like ranch, while others like blue cheese with Buffalo wings and celery, you can do the same with these pickles. Other options include BBQ sauce (my favorite), mayonnaise (especially with dill added), sweet and sour sauce, and Buffalo sauce. The possibilities are endless!

How Do I Store Leftovers?

Although leftovers from a party are rare, you will be happy to know that you can store them in the refrigerator in airtight containers for up to 3 days. You can also reheat them in the oven or air fryer.

Bacon-Wrapped Pickles

Ingredients

  • 12 dill pickle spears
  • 12 slices of bacon
  • Ranch dressing for dipping

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.
  • Pat the pickle spears dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  • Wrap each pickle spear tightly with a slice of bacon. Secure the bacon with a toothpick if necessary.
  • Place the bacon-wrapped pickles on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes or until the bacon is crispy.
  • Serve with ranch dressing or other preferred dipping sauce.
