If you love smoothies as much as I do, this recipe is sure to become your new favorite! It’s simple to make and tastes amazing. I used to pack my smoothies with a long list of ingredients, and while they were good, the effort kept me from making them more often. Recently, I discovered that smoothies can easily be part of my daily routine with fewer ingredients. In fact, less is more! I’ve found that simpler flavor combinations often taste better.

This smoothie is as refreshing as it gets with its berry-filled goodness. Made with frozen berries, it’s bursting with fruity flavor, while the Greek yogurt gives it a decadent, ice cream-like texture. I sometimes add a splash of vanilla extract or cinnamon for a flavor boost. Give this one a try, and you won’t be disappointed!

Is This Frozen Fruit Smoothie Recipe Healthy?

This smoothie is nutritious and oh-so delicious. Loaded with vitamins and minerals from the fruit, it packs an antioxidant punch. For a vegan option, you can always substitute the Greek yogurt with a high-quality vegan yogurt from a brand like Kite Hill. For extra health benefits, add in some chopped cucumber or a handful of greens like spinach or kale.

Are Frozen Fruits Just As Healthy As Fresh?

They most certainly are! Frozen fruits are usually picked at peak ripeness and frozen immediately, preserving their nutrient content. In fact, they may even retain more vitamins and minerals than fresh fruits that have been transported and stored for long periods of time. Plus, having a bag of frozen fruits in your freezer is more than just a great way to boost your health—it’s also an excellent way to reduce food waste, as they last much longer, and you’ll only be using what you need. No more fruit rotting away because you forgot to use it! And, by the way, the same holds true for vegetables!

How to Make Ahead and Store

This smoothie comes together in no time and is best enjoyed fresh, but you can make it the night before and pour it into a thermos or mason jar. That way, you can just grab it on your way out the door the following morning. It’s best to not keep the smoothie for longer than 24 hours, as this can affect the taste and consistency.

Serving Suggestions

Pour the smoothie into a bowl and decorate with healthy toppings such as coconut flakes, granola, nuts and seeds, fresh fruit, and cacao nibs. A drizzle of honey or a dash of ground cinnamon will lift the flavors and make your bowl extra delicious. I enjoy mine all on its own, but if you’d like a more substantial breakfast, whip up a bowl of Oatmeal or pair it with Avocado Toast. Looking for more fruit inspiration for breakfast? Try this Blueberry Almond Breakfast Quinoa Smoothie Bowl. It’s super simple to make and completely dairy-free.
