These Air-Fryer Chicken Wings are delicious, quick, and easy to make—no deep fryer or oven needed.

As a kid, my family would often gather at my aunt’s house to watch baseball. My uncle and dad were huge Yankees fans, so it was always an event that we looked forward to. While I also enjoy baseball (I even played it in high school), the highlight of these get-togethers was not so much the sport but the food. My mom provided the dips, chips, and salads, while my aunt took care of the main attractions: pigs in blankets, loaded potato skins, and crispy chicken wings. And it was the latter that would always disappear in the blink of an eye. When that glorious platter, piled high with golden, still-sizzling wings came out, we’d all dig in like a pack of ravenous wolves.
To this day, wings are one of my favorite game-day treats, but thanks to the magic of the air fryer, I no longer feel the need to fry them in a vat of hot oil and can prepare them in a fraction of the time. These crispy air-fryer chicken wings are super versatile and can be made with your favorite sauce. I love them with my spicy and zesty BBQ Sauce or my tangy Buffalo Sauce, but a store-bought variety will work well, too.
Are These Crispy Air-Fryer Chicken Wings Healthy?
While these chicken wings aren’t deep-fried, they’re still a treat best enjoyed in moderation. They’re a bit high in the saturated fat category. I like to pair them with some veggies or a salad for a well-rounded meal. Ultimately, food should be enjoyed without attaching moral judgments to it and balance is always key.
Clean-up 101
While the air fryer is a great way to make some delectable wings, cleaning the appliance (especially after cooking something fatty) can be quite a hassle. First, resist the temptation to skip the cleaning until the next use, as this will only make removing the grease all the more difficult. Once the appliance has cooled down completely, remove the basket or tray and place it in a sink full of hot, soapy water for 15 minutes. This will help dissolve the hardened grease and loosen any sauce or marinade residues. After the soak, use a soft brush to gently clean all surfaces. Dry the basket or tray thoroughly. Before placing it back in the air fryer, wipe down the (unplugged) appliance with a damp cloth.

How To Make Ahead And Store
Store leftover wings in an airtight container, and refrigerate them for up to 4 days. They can also be frozen in a freezer-safe container for up to 3 months.

Serving Suggestions
Now that you have a plate of hot air-fryer chicken wings ready to go, it’s time to work on the rest of your game-day spread. I highly recommend serving them with a platter of crispy celery sticks and some Blue Cheese Dip. Whip up a plate of these delicious Broccoli Bites, some Oven-Baked Mozzarella Sticks, and some Homemade Hot Pockets. See what I mean? For me, the food is what makes game day so special
