  • Air-Fryer Bacon-Wrapped Asparagus

If you know me at all, you know that my obsession with my air fryer is strong (and likely always will be). I’ve used it time and time again, cooking up all sorts of side dish veggie recipes. Today, we’re going to jazz up our asparagus by adding bacon, and let me tell you, this air-fryer bacon-wrapped asparagus is the absolute BOMB. It is SO simple to whip up, but it really dresses up your asparagus with the salty bacon goodness that will take it to the next level. You are going to love this side dish recipe!

Once you’ve tried this dish, you’ll see why bacon and asparagus make such a fantastic combo. The smoky, savory flavor of the bacon perfectly complements the freshness of the asparagus, creating an irresistible harmony of flavors and textures. The air fryer works its magic by crisping the bacon to perfection while keeping the asparagus tender and slightly crunchy. It’s a side dish that feels fancy enough for a dinner party, but is easy enough to put together quickly on a busy weeknight.

Is Air-Fryer Bacon-Wrapped Asparagus Healthy?

Air-fryer bacon-wrapped asparagus can be a healthy addition to your meal. Asparagus is a source of fiber, folate, and vitamins A, C, and K. While bacon adds extra fat and flavor, the air fryer lets you cook it in a way that reduces excess grease, making it a more health-conscious choice than traditional frying. Plus, since asparagus is naturally low in calories, it balances out the richness of the bacon, offering a tasty yet nutritious side dish. So basically, cooking up some bacon-wrapped asparagus in the air fryer is a fantastic idea for dinner tonight!

Ah, the Magic of the Air Fryer

One of the things I absolutely love about this recipe is how the air fryer does all the heavy lifting. It makes everything so much easier and healthier, giving you perfectly crisp bacon while keeping the asparagus tender with the tiniest bit of oil. This easy dish has all the crunch and flavor you want, minus the extra greasiness that often comes with traditional frying methods. Plus, it cooks up really fast, which is always a win when you’re looking for something easy yet impressive.

And, there are lots of ways to add your own twist to this recipe. You could sprinkle a little brown sugar or drizzle some maple syrup on the bacon before wrapping it around the asparagus to add a subtle sweetness. Or, if you’re a fan of a spicy kick, try adding a sprinkle of cayenne pepper or smoked paprika. It’s a simple recipe that’s really easy to customize.

How to make ahead and store

You can assemble these a day or two ahead of time! Simply wrap them up and store in the fridge. Leftovers? Lucky you! Store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Just reheat in the air fryer or oven for crispness when you’re ready to enjoy them again.

Serving Suggestions

This asparagus is fantastic as a side dish to your favorite protein recipe. I would suggest serving it alongside a juicy Coffee-Rubbed Steak or perhaps a slice of Air-Fryer Pork Tenderloin. Adding a creamy side of Garlic-Mashed Potatoes or Cauliflower Mashed Potatoes would finish off your plate nicely!
