
Rita learned the nuances of fusion cuisine and experimental baking under the tutelage of her grandmother, world-record holder aviatrix and gourmet chef Jerrie Mock. Now she writes cookbooks and food blogs, and travels the world looking for that next greatest dish to enjoy and learn to cook.
Experience
Rita has been cooking and baking since the age of seven, at which time she also started giving her first cooking lessons—to her friends’ parents! Ever since, she’s been developing recipes for numerous cookbooks and food blogs, including The Unofficial Hogwarts for the Holidays Cookbook, and two I Love Trader Joe’s cookbooks for Ulysses Press. She’s also worked as a virtual chef teaching folks how to cook and bake, and has multiple nutrition certifications in weight loss, wellness, and fitness nutrition. You can also find many of Rita’s other written works in publications such as Al-Jazeera, CNN Travel, The Points Guy, and at the MockingOwl Roost art & literary magazine where Rita serves as the editor-in-chief and head camelliaphile.
