Chilling the coconut milk causes the cream to separate and rise to the top of the can. After you’ve finished chilling your coconut cream, open the can—and be careful not to shake it as you do so! Use a spoon to gently scoop out the layer of cream from the top of the can and transfer it to a bowl or other container. This will be your coconut cream! You can store your coconut cream in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one week. You can also store the remaining coconut water to use in smoothies or baking.
How Do I Store Leftovers?
I definitely recommend enjoying this smoothie right after blending, but if you wind up with leftovers, you can absolutely save them for later! Just transfer your remaining smoothie to an airtight container like a mason jar. You can store your leftovers in the fridge for up to 24-48 hours. Just make sure to give your smoothie a good stir or shake before serving!
