These Sugar-Free Brownies are perfectly sweetened and fudgy. Savor that delicious brownie flavor and texture that you love, but with no refined sugar!

We all enjoy different kinds of brownies. Some like those with a finer crumb that’s more akin to that of chocolate cake, while others prefer them dense and decadent. I’m in the second camp. To me, a perfect brownie needs to be super fudgy, with a center that is just set and a crumb that’s moist and totally irresistible. But how can you achieve these results? Fudgy brownies have a higher fat-to-flour ratio. This means that you should add more butter and chocolate. The amount of eggs and sweeteners do not change.
Here, in the FFF kitchen, there is certainly NO shortage of brownie recipes. Not only because it’s my way of professing my undying devotion to these glorious creations, but because I want to make sure we have something for everyone.
So that’s why I had to give a sugar-free brownie recipe a try! That’s right, these brownies contain no refined sugar and are sweetened with Truvia instead. They are just as dense, chewy, and fudgy!
Are Sugar-Free Brownies Healthy?
Compared to traditional brownie recipes, these sugar-free brownies have fewer calories and less fat, making them a better choice for those who are watching their weight or sugar intake. That said, they aren’t a health food either, so don’t expect any significant nutritional benefit from them—just pure joy!
If you want to make a keto-friendly or low-carb recipe, substitute the cocoa powder for a low-sugar version and use dark chocolate that has at least 70% cocoa. You will also need to substitute the all-purpose flour for a low-carb flour like almond or coconut flour.
All About The Crumb
For cake-like brownies with a lighter, airier texture, remove them from the oven once the edges start to pull away from the sides of the tray or baking pan. Another good indicator is to insert a toothpick into the center—if it comes out clean or with just a few dry crumbs, the brownies are done and ready to cool.
For fudgy brownies with a rich, dense texture (just the way I like them!), stick to the lower end of the time range stated in the recipe. The toothpick test won’t work the same for fudgy brownies. If it comes out with some sticky crumbs, that’s a sign they’re ready but still gooey on the inside.

How to Make Ahead And Store
I recommend storing these brownies in an airtight container. They will last in the fridge for up to 1 week. If you want to freeze them, store them in an airtight container or Ziploc bag (with pieces of parchment paper between them). They will last up to 3 months.

Serving Suggestions
Bring out the kid in you and serve these with a cold glass of milk or oat milk. If I’m in the mood to indulge in a delicious chocolate overdose, I’ll make myself a cup of thick, luscious hot chocolate.
