Ingredients
3/4cupalmond milk or any preferred milk
1teaspoongranulated sugar
2tablespoonscornstarch
1 1/4teaspoonsvanilla extract
1/2teaspoonground cinnamon
4slicesthick bread
Unsalted butteras needed
Maple syrup and fresh fruit for serving
Instructions
Whisk together milk, sugar, cornstarch, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until there are no lumps. Transfer to a shallow dish.
Dunk each slice of bread into the mixture before any cornstarch settles at the bottom of the dish. Dip the slices for a few seconds, being careful not to oversoak them.
Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat and melt butter to coat the pan. Place the soaked bread slices on the skillet and cook for about 4 minutes per side or until golden brown.
Serve the French toast immediately. Top with fresh fruit and maple syrup when serving.
